Full Visibility From The Origin Warehouse To The Final Mile

Navigating through ports, rails, chassis, dray carriers, customs and distribution centers continues to be a challenge for most importers. Whether it is a lack of visibility, lack of resources needed to manage/minimize detention and demurrage, or simply a lack of dray capacity, the final mile of the import supply chain continues to increase in cost and complexity. Importers are expanding and changing their ports of entry, dray carrier mix, chassis strategies, and generally not innovating as everyone is just trying their best to keep up with the ever-changing challenges.

At ACS, we have seen this increasing need to move from “passive” data capture at destination to providing our customers with an “active” management solution, similar to what we have provided to you for years at origin. This is where EDRAY comes in. For the last 3 years, EDRAY has worked to create a best-in-class technology platform and team to manage and bring innovation to the final import mile on behalf of importers, in addition to providing drayage capacity through their marketplace solution when needed.

Achieving a turnkey solution, EDRAY and ACS have worked hard to create seamless system connectivity with no systems lift required for the customer. Once on the water, ACS sends an ASN to EDRAY who then begins the inbound planning process, forecasting daily to all parties and preparing for the inbound volume. As the vessels are set to arrive, EDRAY ensures that customs clearance has been done and systemic allocation to the dray carriers has been executed based on importer requirements.

Once off vessel, EDRAY works with the local dray carriers, terminals, rails, chassis providers, and distribution centers every step of the way to ensure freight is moved as fast and cost-effectively as possible. While detailed operational visibility is available through EDRAY’s platform, EDRAY also sends clean, accurate, and complete data back to ACS throughout the process.
